AUBURN, Ala.- Downtown streets will close for the Auburn Downtown Merchants Association's Cheers on the Corner beginning at 3:45 p.m. on Friday, July 18. College Street will be closed between Thach and Tichenor avenues, and Magnolia Avenue will be closed between Gay and Wright Streets.

To promote the safest environment for all event attendees, all vehicles parked in on-street parking within the event area must be removed by 5 p.m. All vehicles remaining after 5 p.m. will be towed at the owner’s expense. Parking downtown will be gradually coned off throughout the day to reduce the need for towing.

Downtown visitors are encouraged to park in the Wright Street Parking Deck, Burton Street Parking Deck, the Gay Street Parking Lot, the East Glenn Avenue Lot and Felton Little Park.

An entertainment district will be in effect from 5-10 p.m., allowing patrons to walk around with an alcoholic beverage within the district boundaries. Beverages and containers must be obtained from participating downtown businesses.
